2002 to 2004:
The RS-232 control protocol was improved with version 6.0. This protocol runs at 38400-baud (but can be set to run at 9600-baud if needed). Most of the commands are compatible with prior version 4.xx/5.xx systems, but many new commands were added, and a few commands and messages were tweaked -- previous version 4.xx/5.xx control system drivers need some minor changes to work with version 6.x systems.

Lattis systems use downloadable system software, and final versions are available below, should you need to update a field unit (instructions are included in the zip file). This firmware can be downloaded into version 6.x systems, which are identified by a -01 suffix after the model number on the rear-panel label (eg: LE-800A-01).

Lattis family members are still available today, and are currently shipping with version 7.x firmware (identified by a -02 suffix). Note that ALL of the version 6.x protocol is implemented in 7.0 -- this means that drivers written for version 6.0 (2002) still work with current Lattis switchers. The Lattis LE-400A, LE-800V, and LE-400HD switchers were introduced in 2003, and the LE-408HD arrived in 2004.

1999 to 2001:
An entirely new RS-232 control protocol was introduced with version 4.00 (to 5.25). This 9600-baud protocol simplified control system programming by introducing more powerful commands, and using decimal parameters. The firmware version also dictates protocol level, since new commands were added periodically from version 4.00 through version 5.25. Note that previous version 3.xx control system drivers are incompatible with version 4.xx/5.xx systems.

Lattis and Aris systems used downloadable system software, and final versions are available below, should you need to update a field unit (instructions are included in the zip file). This firmware can be downloaded into version 4.xx/5.xx systems, which are identified by NO suffix after the model number on the rear-panel label (eg: LE-800A).

These Lattis family members debuted in 1999 and are still available today, but the Aris family was discontinued in 2001. All Lattis/Aris systems can be controlled by infrared and/or RS-232 commands. The Lattis LE-800A is an 8x8 audio switcher, the LE-800AV is an 8x8 audio/video switcher, the LE-1600A is a 16x16 audio switcher, and the LE-1600V is a 16x16 video switcher. The Aris AR-508A MediaMation switcher (00-01) was an 8x8 audio switcher, the Aris AR-508AV (00-01) was an 8x8 audio/video switcher, and the Aris AR-516 (00-01) was a 16x16 audio switcher. The Aris AR-510 (99) was an 8x8 audio/video switcher, and the Aris AR-520 (99) added RF control.

1993 to 1998:
The original Vaux Protocol RS-232 control language debuted on Aris 700 and Marc II systems. This protocol used ascii-encoded-hex parameters, and ran at 9600-baud. The firmware version dictates the protocol level, and new commands were periodically added.

Aris and Altrix systems used downloadable system software -- final version 3.15 is available below, should you need to update a field unit (instructions are included in the zip file).

The Aris 700 MediaMation switcher (94-98) had 8-audio/4-video sources, and 6-audio/4-video zones, and was controlled by RC-8-RF remotes, and/or RS-232. The Aris 720i (96-98) added infrared control using RC-8-IR remotes, and the audio-only Aris 710 (97-98) had IR and 232 control (but no RF control or video switching). The Altrix 3000 (96-98), Altrix 3400 (98), and Marc II (94-96) were IR/RF/232 control systems (no av switching). The Marc Plus 1080 (96-98) and Marc 1070 systems (93-95) were RF remote control systems. KP-1 keypad systems (97-99) were used with IR-capable Aris and Altrix units. RC-8 remotes (96-99) were preceeded by the CON-1 console (94) and the RC-1 remote (93-95).
